PLEASE join Hartley Haverty as she strives to fundraise for her marathon campaign! Proceeds help her reach her goal and benefit APLA! Let's support her as a team!!!
Here's what she wrote on her blog, http://hartstir.blogspot.com/
I will be having this fundraiser event on Saturday, November 7 at Gary Bric's Ramp, a restaurant in Burbank. The dinner menu will be available from 8pm to 10pm. From 10pm to 2am the bar will stay open and we will have some snacks, some raffles and, hopefully, some dancing! All YOU have to do is show up! Ten percent of the evening's proceeds go to my campaign so this will be the night to shamelessly order 4, 5, 6...oh heck, as many drinks as you want!
Please join me, it's going to be tons of fun all while fundraising for a good cause!
Get it - there's a reason that the word FUN is in FUNdraiser....
I don't know what it is, but I'm sure there's one.
All I know is that I'm looking forward to the event and so should YOU! So be there or...you know the rest.

4 Miles - Training Run - October 17, 2009
What a milestone! (for me, at least!) - Getting up early on Sunday mornings will get easier, I am sure - and so is the running... 5 of the 8 in our group finished 4 miles in just over 50 minutes, with the last 3 of our group cruising in RIGHT ON PACE! in 56 minutes! Turns out that with our pace (15 minute mile) - the Jeff Galloway method that is used during our training in this program guides our group to a 2 minute run, 2 minute walk routine.
We posed for a quick photo after the run - it's really exciting that we're doing this - meeting new friends, getting to know each other better each week... We missed 2 of our runners, but gained a new one! - Hartley is going to become a part of our group as well, and we're excited to have her!
Next week - 5 miles! - we can do it and I look forward to seeing my running pals again! Remember to purchase a water bottle or at the very least bring a bottle of water to carry with you - after next week, we will not be allowed to run without water!

Welcome - Day One
We met today on a chilly Sunday in the misty air, some of us a bit timid and scared, unsure if we would be able to run even the required three mile pace run. After a few words from the leaders, we were all divided into groups and set off on the start of our journey.
For me, the journey ended at 40 minutes, 15 seconds. This placed me with all of you - in the 14 minute mile group - which is, I believe, the best place to be!
Meeting each of you today was fantastic - it puts my mind at ease knowing that I'll see you on Sunday - that we are all taking on this endeavor together, and that somehow, we will help each other along during this incredible journey!
Welcome - and remember today; after this pace run our lives will never be the same!
As a way to get to know the others in our group, I am posting a question - please take time to introduce yourself and answer:
Today's Question: Why are you running? What guided you to join the National AIDS Marathon Training Program to train for the 2010 Los Angeles Marathon?
I look forward to hearing from each of you!
Best,
Kyle
